Who Are You Really Fighting? Hearing the Trainer’s Voice in the Heat of the Battle

If you’ve ever worked a double shift on a job site, spent twelve hours under the hood of a truck, or stood behind a barber chair until your back screamed, you know what it feels like to be in a fight. Life doesn't just tap you on the shoulder; sometimes it hits you with a left hook that leaves your ears ringing and your bank account gasping for air.

When the pressure mounts: when the bills pile up faster than the paychecks or a family crisis hits: it’s easy to look up at the ceiling and ask, “God, why are You doing this to me?”

But here’s the truth: You might be swinging at the wrong person.

At My Business Is Your Business / All Into Life, we believe in a holistic approach to your success. Whether it’s your physical health, your mental toughness, or your financial fortress, the principles of the fight remain the same. I’m Reuben Lowing, and I’ve spent enough time in actual boxing rings to know that who you think you’re fighting changes everything about how you throw your hands.

The Job 17 Misconception: Is God the Bully?

In the book of Job, specifically around chapter 17, we see a man who is absolutely catching it from all sides. He’s lost his kids, his wealth, and his health. His "friends" are basically telling him he must have screwed up big time to deserve this. Job himself starts to feel like God has set him up as a target.

There’s a common myth that when things go south, it’s because God is punishing us or actively trying to break us. We see the struggle as a divine beatdown.

The Correction: God isn’t the one throwing the punches. He’s the Trainer in your corner.

The real adversary in Job’s story: and in yours: is a spiritual one. It’s the spirit of lack, the spirit of fear, and the tactical maneuvers of an enemy who wants to see you stay down. Job was in a spiritual battle, not a divine execution. When we misidentify the enemy, we waste our energy fighting the very One who is trying to give us the strategy to win.

In your finances, the enemy isn't the "economy" or "bad luck." Often, the enemy is a system designed to keep you in debt, coupled with a lack of the right "Trainer’s voice" in your ear.

The Ring, the Ranked Fighter, and Roy Jones Sr.

I remember a time back in my boxing days that perfectly illustrates this. I was training under Roy Jones Sr.: a man who forgot more about boxing than most people will ever learn.

One day, he put me in the ring for some sparring. I didn't know the guy across from me from a can of paint. All I knew was that he was fast, he was hitting hard, and he was technically sound. I was holding my own, but I was frustrated. I felt outmatched. I felt like I was being thrown to the wolves.

It wasn't until after the session that I found out that guy was a high-ranked professional fighter.

I asked Roy, “Why didn’t you tell me who he was?”

Roy looked at me and basically said that if he’d told me his rank, I would have fought the rank, not the man. He knew I was ready for that level of heat, even if I didn't believe it yet. He didn't show me the full "rank" of the enemy because he knew my capacity.

God does the same thing with us. He allows us into "rings" where the opponent looks bigger than our pay grade. Why? Because He knows what He’s built into you. He knows you’re a Warrior-Steward. He’s not going to let you get in a ring you aren't equipped to survive, but He’s also not going to let you stay in the amateur leagues forever.

Hearing the Voice Over the Noise

In a later fight, things were getting heavy. The crowd was loud, my lungs were burning, and the guy in front of me was putting on the pressure. In the heat of the battle, everything becomes a blur. You can’t think; you can only react.

But then, through the roar of the crowd, I heard it. A specific, sharp, commanding tone. It was Roy Jones Sr. yelling:

"Be first with the right hand!"

In that split second, I didn't analyze the physics of a cross. I didn't check my bank balance. I didn't wonder if I was "worthy." I just obeyed the voice. I let that right hand fly before my opponent could move. That one piece of specific guidance changed the entire momentum of the fight.

This is the Sender/Receiver concept in action. Our biological design: the way God wired our brains and bodies: is built to respond to a spoken identity and a clear command. When you align your "receiver" (your spirit and mind) with the "Sender" (the Trainer’s voice), you stop guessing and start winning.

The Financial Ring: Sword and Shield

So, how does this apply to your wallet? Most tradespeople: the barbers, the HVAC techs, the welders: are out there fighting every day, but they’re fighting without a corner man. They’re using the "BTID" (Buy Term and Invest the Difference) model, which is like going into a championship fight with no headgear and a hope that the market doesn't crash right when you need to retire.

At All Into Life, we use a "Best of Both Worlds" strategy. Think of it as your Sword and Shield.

  1. The Sword (Strategic Growth): We want you to participate in the big gains. From 2012 to 2026, the S&P 500 has seen incredible climbs. You need a weapon that can capture that.

  2. The Shield (Asset Armor): This is the EIUL 0% floor. When the market tanks: like it did in 2001 or 2008: your shield goes up. You don't lose your principal. You stay at zero while everyone else is dropping 40%.

The Rule of 72 and Wealth Capacity

Listen closely, because this is the "Right Hand" instruction you need to hear: Your money can double every 2.5 years.

If you’re seeing an annual average growth of 28.9% (72 ÷ 28.9 ≈ 2.5), your wealth capacity is massive. In a single decade, your money could double four times. But you can’t do that if you’re constantly recovering from losses. Preserving capital during the downturns is how you capture the massive upside later. That’s how you build a Financial Fortress.

Stop Fighting Your Support System

The biggest misconception I see is people thinking they have to sacrifice safety to get growth. They think they have to "take risks" to make it. That’s a lie from the enemy designed to keep you in a cycle of lack.

Consumer debt is a violation of the Law of Stewardship. It’s like entering the ring with your shoelaces tied together. You’re tripping over your own feet before the first punch is even thrown. Whether you’re in Texas, Michigan, California, Georgia, or Idaho, the rules of the Covenant don’t change. Money is a tool of the Covenant, and stewardship is your spiritual responsibility.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember: God isn't the one punching you. He’s the one yelling the instructions you need to hear to end the fight. But you have to be willing to listen to the "Trainer’s Voice" over the noise of your own fear.

Your Tactical Maneuver

You don’t have to stay in the "financial kill zone." You don't have to keep swinging blindly at an enemy you haven't identified. It’s time to gear up with Asset Armor and a strategy that actually works for the working man.

Whether you're looking to pay off debt fast or you're ready to start family banking, the first step is the same: Get a corner man.

Next Step: Don't wait for the next round to start. Book a strategy call today. Let’s look at your "Wealth Capacity" and see how we can get your money doubling every 2.5 years while keeping your "Shield" firmly in place.

Stop fighting the wrong battle. Start hearing the Voice.

You have the heart of a warrior. It's time to become the steward your family deserves. Let's get to work.
